About this group
The Growth and Affordable Homes Group supports the development of new affordable homes across Manchester through partnership working between housing providers and Manchester City Council. The group helps coordinate strategic housing growth and supports delivery of the city’s housing ambitions.
The group works collaboratively to develop housing pipelines, support regeneration and promote sustainable development. It also helps align housing growth with wider priorities including homelessness prevention, zero carbon targets and neighbourhood renewal.
The group aims to:
- Increase delivery of affordable homes across Manchester.
- Support homelessness reduction through new housing provision.
- Promote sustainable and zero-carbon housing development.
- Support regeneration of neighbourhoods and existing housing stock.
- Share market intelligence and development best practice.
- Strengthen collaboration with planning, Homes England and regional partners.
