About this group
The Anti-Poverty Group brings together housing providers, Manchester City Council and community partners to help tackle poverty across Manchester. The group supports delivery of the city’s Anti-Poverty Strategy and works collaboratively to address the wider impacts of the cost-of-living crisis on residents and communities.
The group focuses on prevention, practical support and long-term solutions. It promotes partnership working, community engagement and shared learning to ensure responses are effective, sustainable and shaped by local people’s experiences and needs.
The group aims to:
- Support delivery of Manchester's Anti-Poverty Strategy and Making Manchester Fairer priorities.
- Raise awareness of issues including food, fuel, digital and school-related poverty.
- Promote sustainable community responses and collaborative working.
- Share good practice, data and insight across partners.
- Support local food initiatives and stronger food systems.
- Ensure community voices influence decision-making and service delivery.
