The Growth & Affordable Homes Group met on 1 July 2026 to discuss key housing and regeneration priorities across Manchester.

A major focus was the North Manchester Healthy Neighbourhood and Hospital Regeneration programme, which forms part of the wider North Manchester Masterplan.

Partners from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Bruntwood, Pozzoni and Bidwells outlined plans for a mixed-use, health-focused neighbourhood, including affordable housing, key worker accommodation, extra care housing and independent living options. Phase One is expected to deliver around 435 homes, with partner selection due to begin in autumn 2026.

Members also received an update from Homes England on the Strategic Partnership Programme, funding opportunities through the National Housing Bank, and ongoing discussions around future CME funding and Section 106 challenges.

Manchester City Council provided a strategic housing update, highlighting North Manchester regeneration as a key city priority, while the Greater Manchester Growth Group reported progress on funding routes for major housing schemes.

The meeting also marked the launch of the new MHPP website, with members encouraged to submit case studies, project news and development updates to showcase housing and regeneration activity across Manchester.
