About Arawak Walton

Arawak Walton Housing Association is the largest independent Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) housing association in the North West, providing over 1,200 affordable homes across Manchester and the surrounding areas. With roots in the African Caribbean community, we have a proud history of supporting diverse communities and creating sustainable, multicultural neighbourhoods where people can thrive. For more than 40 years, we have been committed to providing high-quality, affordable housing alongside services that help residents build strong, successful and connected communities.

Our Manchester presence

Greater Manchester is at the heart of our organisation and the communities we serve. We manage homes across Manchester, Trafford and surrounding areas, supporting residents from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds. We work closely with local authorities, community groups and partner organisations to respond to local housing needs and help create sustainable neighbourhoods where people feel safe, connected and valued. Our strong local presence allows us to build lasting relationships with residents and communities while continuing to invest in homes and neighbourhood improvements across the region.

We understand the challenges faced by many of the people and neighbourhoods we serve and work hard to ensure our homes and services meet the needs of current and future generations. Our mission is to champion the provision of quality affordable homes in sustainable multicultural neighbourhoods. Guided by our core values, we place people at the heart of everything we do. We listen and respond to the needs of our residents and stakeholders, continually striving to improve our services and deliver positive outcomes.

Supporting our communities

We are proud of our roots and remain committed to supporting and promoting the communities we serve. Through innovation, partnership working and strong financial stewardship, we continue to invest in our existing homes and neighbourhoods while seeking opportunities to grow and increase access to affordable housing. As a community-focused organisation, we believe everyone deserves a safe, secure and affordable home. We are passionate about creating places where people feel valued, supported and able to achieve their potential, helping to build stronger communities across Greater Manchester.
